Prep is most of the job
- Repair first. Patch drywall, fix soft or rotted trim and caulk gaps before any paint goes on.
- Prime where needed. Bare wood, patched spots and water stains need primer so the finish looks even and stains don't bleed through.
- Right sheen for the room. Flatter finishes hide wall flaws; satin or semi-gloss is easier to clean in kitchens, baths, trim and doors.
- Protect the house. Floors, furniture and fixtures get covered and the work area is cleaned up each day.

Frequently asked questions
What does a painting estimate include?
A written scope: which rooms or surfaces get painted, the prep work (patching, caulking, sanding, priming), the number of coats and who supplies the paint. The estimate is free with no obligation.
Can you paint after a roof leak?
Yes. Water-stained ceilings usually need the leak fixed and the area dried, then a stain-blocking primer before paint, or the stain can bleed through. We can quote the roof repair, ceiling repair and painting together.
My home was built before 1978. Does that matter?
It can. Older homes may have lead-based paint, and federal EPA lead-safe rules (the Renovation, Repair and Painting rule) apply to work that disturbs painted surfaces in many pre-1978 homes. Tell us the year your home was built so we can plan the job.
When is the best time to paint the exterior?
Most exterior paints list a minimum air and surface temperature on the can, and fresh paint should not get rained on. Mild, dry stretches in spring and fall are usually easiest; we will schedule around the weather.
Do I need to move furniture?
We will go over prep in your estimate, including what needs to be moved and covered, so there are no surprises.
