Roofing, metal roofing and metal building work performed by Jose's Construction, a licensed Oklahoma roofing contractor (license #80002601). ECS Enterprises Inc. handles your estimate and project coordination.
Your insurance company decides whether a claim is approved and what it covers. We never promise approval, we never waive or pay deductibles, and you are never required to file a claim.
Right after the storm
- Stay safe and stay off the roof.
- Document first. Take dated photos or video of damage before cleanup, from the ground: vents, gutters, the AC unit, siding, windows and any ceiling stains. Keep a list of what was damaged [1], [2].
- Prevent more damage. Make only temporary repairs, like tarping or catching a leak, and keep every receipt [1], [2].
- Report it promptly to your insurer or agent [1].
- Get an inspection and a written estimate you can share with the adjuster [1].
- Keep a log of every call, email and visit about the claim [2].
Know your deductible
Check the declarations page of your policy. Some Oklahoma homeowners policies carry a separate wind and hail deductible, and it may be a percentage of the home's insured value rather than a flat dollar amount. Knowing that number first helps you decide whether a claim makes sense. Paying your deductible is your responsibility under the policy.
Meeting the adjuster
- Have your photos, the date of the storm and your written estimate ready.
- If you'd like, we can be there with our inspection photos and measurements.
- Ask the adjuster what happens next and when to expect their estimate.
- Compare the adjuster's estimate with yours line by line, and ask about anything missing.
Edmond specifics
- Permits. A storm re-roof in Edmond goes through the City of Edmond building department, which publishes its re-roof requirements [3].
- HOA rules. Many Edmond neighborhoods limit shingle color and style, so check before you choose.
- Storm chasers. After big storms, out-of-town crews knock on doors. Ask whose license is on the job and look it up with the Construction Industries Board. Be wary of anyone who offers to cover your deductible.
