A line of storms on the night of July 4 brought hail and strong wind across Canadian County and southern Oklahoma City. These are the storm reports logged by the National Weather Service in Norman for that day:
- 75 mph wind gust measured 7 miles E of Mustang, about 9:57 PM
- 1.25 in hail (half dollar) 3 miles S of Yukon, about 9:49 PM
- Large tree limbs down 2 miles SW of Piedmont and 4 miles SE of Yukon
- 60 mph gust at Tinker Air Force Base; a large tree down near SE 15th and Air Depot in Midwest City
