Source: NOAA Storm Prediction Center (SPC) Severe Weather Database, hail reports file 1955-2024 (spc.noaa.gov/wcm), reports from 2005 through 2024. Counts are reports logged by the National Weather Service, not every hailstone that fell: one storm can create several reports, and hail that nobody reported is not counted. Since 2010 the database mostly includes hail 1 inch or larger. Figures computed by us from the public file; we did not change or estimate any values.
Canadian and Logan counties are more rural, so fewer people are around to report hail. Lower counts there do not necessarily mean less hail fell.
